Eric and Keri had a great time discovering Pueblito Los Domínicos, an artisan village of 150 stores that is famous for one-of-a-kind, original hand-knit clothing, jewelry, pottery, lapis lazuli, alpaca wool sweaters, ostrich leather accessories and much more, all set in quaint “village” surroundings in the heart of cosmopolitan Santiago. Here, they test the Love Meter — liquid that rises to the top of a hand-blown crystal glass bottle when held. Eric and Keri took a cable car up the steep Cerro San Cristobál (Saint Christopher Hill), in the center of Santiago to enjoy impressive vistas of the cosmopolitan city below.

A trip to Santiago wouldn’t be complete without wine tasting and tapas at Wine 365 at The Ritz-Carlton, Santiago. As the name suggests, Wine 365 offers patrons the chance to choose from among 365 bottles of wine — more than enough for an evening tasting. Sommelier Magda Saleh adds dramatic fl air to a wine fl ight presentation for Eric and Keri by using a custom-made glass holder to present the exquisite wines, each a unique vintage from different area wineries.

The rooftop spa of The Ritz-Carlton is crowned by a glass atrium, which provides 180-degree views of the cosmopolitan city and the Andes mountains. The pool and elevated hot tub are perfect for a romantic late-night dip, complete with champagne and strawberries.

Eric and Keri get their fi rst taste of some of Chile’s fine wine. The intimate Club Lounge is the perfect place to relax and be pampered after an international flight — and throughout the day.

Eric and Keri enjoy a romantic “stroll” in a restored 19th-century carriage, through the lush vineyards of the famous Viu Manent winery. The heady scent of grapes, the beautiful surroundings and the majestic backdrop of the Andes combine to create an experience similar to what Napa Valley must have been like 50 years ago.
