“[Prague] is a good place because it’s calm there and everything is beautiful to look at. If you want to get caught up in just playing around at night and doing things, it has that, too. I like a nice balance of whatever it is that you want to do. Obviously, there are no beaches to lay out on, but as far as just roaming around, going at your own pace, it kind of felt easy there. I wasn’t rushed, and it didn’t seem hectic like Paris might have been.
You can walk over the Charles Bridge. You could go listen to some music in the basement of this jazz club place that was probably built 1,400 years ago—that was amazing. There are the typical castles you want to see while you’re there, and the main center square where the astronomical clock is. It’s a little touristy, but it’s beautiful to sit in the center there and just hang if it’s warm.”

“I love going to Montreal. I love going to Toronto. But a warm climate? So far there’s a place in Maui that I love. My father lives in Honolulu, but I’m trying to get to Bora Bora. I’m trying to get to Puerto Rico. I’m also trying to get to the South of France. So talk to me in about five years!”

“Sayulita, in Mexico. It’s 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta. And it’s a little surfer town, and you go and you rent bungalows and you just drink margaritas. … A friend of my boyfriend’s told us about it, and we’ve gone for the last two years. We went the first year at Christmas, and then this past year, we went in the spring.”

“I was just in Tahiti for the first time, and it was incredible. We stayed at this place called Le Taha’a, and it was unreal for me because I’m a water guy. I love the ocean. I surf and fish and dive. My wife doesn’t. She likes to look at the ocean, but she doesn’t like to go in the ocean. So it’s her sunbathing and reading, and I’m diving and snorkeling. You can’t deny the beauty of Tahiti. I’d never been. And it was a chance to go down there. And we lucked out by picking this hotel, which was incredible. I’ve never been to a nicer place in my life.”

“I would have to say Costa Rica, because it’s only like a five-hour flight away from L.A. It’s no different from going to New York, and you’re in Costa Rica! And you get to swing in trees and zip through on zip lines and go white-water rafting. We did a whole two weeks—the first half was all Amazing Race style. We did all that fun, crazy stuff. And then the second half was all rest and relaxation. But I have to say, over that, [I prefer] Hawaii, particularly Maui. It smells so great there. Everyone is so nice, and everywhere you look is fantastically aquatic and gorgeous. And there’s just piña coladas everywhere! And who doesn’t love a good piña colada—honestly?”

“My husband and I rent a house in the South of France. We sound very fancy, but it’s not fancy. It’s like this little normal house—the same house every time—and we just pretend that we live there. We go around to markets in the mornings, and then we cook the whole time we’re there. We nap. I cook a lot. This year was our fourth year. We do it just right before all the tourists go, usually in May. One year we went, and I went to this really intensive language school for a month. It’s really neat.”

“My family and I have a cabin on the Rogue River in Agnes, Ore., where we go up and become mountain people in the summer. We go up there, fish for salmon and raft. The kids swim in the swimming hole every day. We just disappear for two months up there every summer; I think nature’s great for kids and family. It’s like the ultimate camping spot.”

“You can’t go wrong in Italy—the food, the people, the place. We’re actually headed back there this summer. We’re going to be just outside of Florence, in a little town called Ravello. We’re going to be in a sort of little country inn that’s really nice. In our new house here in L.A., we’ve put a pizza oven in. [As a result], we’re going to pizza school.”
