The Workout That Works For Me:
Michelle Stafford (The Young and the Restless)
The lowdown: During the spring and summer when the weather's good and hot, I play volleyball on the beach in Santa Monica. I pretty much play with the same group all the time. I think of it more as a social event than a workout. It's fun!
Go-to gear: I wear shorts and a Tshirt—anything that fits well. I don't wear shades because they obscure my vision. But the sun is strong, so I definitely wear some sort of hat, usually a baseball cap.
Secret for a killer serve: Oh wow, you shouldn't be asking me that!
Rainy-day alternative: I do cardio and weights at the gym. I've been working with the same trainer, Mark Holman, for 10 years. We have a great time together. We talk about sports. He's not a trainer who wants to be an actor.
Best part of the game: When I'm winning.
Biggest challenge: When I'm not winning.
Go ball-istic: Gather some friends and get your game on with the Nike Softset volleyball ($20; sportsauthority.com)
Healthy Bests: Pamper Yourself
